The Sunday.

What a miserable rainy Sunday.

But this time, I didn't want to waste time thinking - shall We go or shall We stay? - so decided to go to the Museum of Childhood. We took the tube to Bethnal Green and Safina loved the ride! We loved the museum but towards our departure, when Safina was playing in the sandpit and OH was about to come out of the lift, Toby got lost. He was literally in the corner and then he was gone!! Just like that! We started looking for him and just lost it! The couple next to us wanted to help too. We looked EVERYWHERE and just thought somebody must have taken him!! Our hearts stopped! Then OH went to look in the corner where I saw him last and there he was. Stuck behind the thinnest gap between the wall and the display! Honestly!! Honestly!!
Afterwards we went to Brick Lane, which was awesome despite the rain, and had bagels. Then Columbia Road Flower Market! I haven't been there before, but the place is sooo lovely and buzzing. A little bit crowded but it's so worth it! I wanted to get some ranunculus, but when I saw the beautiful branches of cherry blossom I changed my mind! Now I wish I got both of them, but that gives me the chance to to again. Soon...

Tomorrow - Monday, and Easter in a week!
I still need to buy some chocolate bunnies, which I've been meaning to buy but was scared Safina might note them somewhere!

PS. Photos will come, they just don't want to lad so I'm going to sleep.

Easter (activities part II)

London never disappoints!!

Here is a list of some activities.
I've picked the free ones. I just hope I'll be in a position to go out of the flat... as I have a duck to roast.
 These do look super promising!!

Selfridges Egg Hunt
Free, on 2nd 3rd and 4th of April at 10 am on 4th Floor.

Covent Garden Egg Hunt
Free, Good Friday(3/4) and Easter Sunday (5/4)

South Bank Egg Hunt
Free, Fri (3/4) through to Easter Monday (6/4) at 11am.

Kensington Roof Gardens Egg Hunt
 Easter Sunday 11am

There is also loads happening in the Mudchute Farm from today (28/3)

I will be making cookies with Easter shapes (bunnies, chicks and eggs - bought in a Pound shop) and then we will decorate them.
... also maybe some sort of decoration for the house, like a bunny bunting - if there is time and I need to buy a bunch of some sort of green branches and hang something on it.

Easter (probably part I)

Easter is approaching very very quickly and only today I managed to buy some presents for my children (online obviously).
Because we're trying to save money I didn't want to buy any toys (we have way way way way way too many of these in our household) so instead I opted for swimming shorts for Toby, they're from Mini Rodini and hopefully will last him at least a couple of years ;)

For Safina, on the other hand I got the book from Rock and Pebble 'The Dollhouse'

It looks amazing. I can't wait for her to see it. We will probably colour it in together!!

On another note, we need to figure out what the plan for the two weeks of half term is. There will probably be a lot happening in London, so I need to check the V and A and other places, and will let you know what we're up to. Hopefully the weather will improve and we can spend a lot of time in the park! ... and try out Toby's swimwear in the nearby pool!!

For SwimpantsInYell

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger

Recently, things didn't go as planned.
we picked a house that we liked... not that we went for any house, the prices are just ridiculous and we had to look further and further from Central London keeping in mind

*commuting and
*distance from relatives and
*keeping an eye on schools and
*sports centres and
*community and
*area and
*the garden needs to be south/west facing and
*the bathroom can't be downstairs - near the living room... It's seriously to find anything like that with a
*BUDGET in your mind... so many things to check and on top considering the rented flat, that we need to give the two month notice (without knowing in real honestly when will we get the house... IF!!)
So we are back to square one, and need to start looking again, but there is one thing that keeps me going, it's a John Lennon's quote, I believe:

EVERYTHING WILL BE OK IN THE END,
IF IT'S NOT OK, IT'S NOT THE END.

 Very uplifting, don't you think?

Mudchute Farm

Have you ever been to the Mudchute Farm?

It's near Canary Wharf and it's so nice to the contrast between the sky scrapers and the rural scenery. You can find animals from the little rats and rabbits to alpacas and always hungry goats! Make sure you stock up on the carrots in the nearby Asda and you have a beautiful day spent with menagerie.
Make sure you check it out if you haven't been yet. But don't pick a rainy day - like us. We had rich between sheep and goats and stop over at the stables to hide from the rain. (the photos are from two weeks before) Still, it was lovely... until both of my own menagerie fell asleep on the train... hmmm. But I have two spare hands on my back so I coped just fine (crying laughing face emoji)
The next day Mum was flying back home and we did feel emotional. She was here for a couple of months and we did really get used to her helping hand with our busy work-home-nursery schedule.

Our Sunday

Sundays supposed to be easy, but when you have two small ones and sometimes annoying Other Half that likes to lay in - you don't really get much relaxation out of it. Nevertheless, I try. Three coffees and counting. Keeping myself awake and alert with my favourite caffeine binge.
My life has changed so much since having two of the beautiful darlings in it. Multitasking is my middle name and coffee drinking is my choice of relaxation. The marble mug above is a current favourite from H and M.

There is always something planned, but something comes along and something happens and the planned thing happens too late or worse, doesn't happen at all. Then there is bad weather, kids get sick.... Argghhh.

This one was different though. We went to see The Paddington in a local cinema. Children loved it and so did we. The thing I find hilarious is when the whole London geography revolves around the main buildings and landmarks when in fact the journey the characters take could have been much much more straight forward - but less entertaining.
Afterwards we went to the playground and kids had so much fun. The sun was shining and it was quite warm. We thoromuch since having two of the beautiful darlings in it.

PS.
Who loves Moomins?
We saw the trailer for the film (Moomins on the Riviera) coming to the cinemas in May! Wooohoo!!

Wedding Guest Style

There is a wedding coming up and I clearly need a new dress...
At the beginning I was thinking about a calf length leather skirt with a white or delicate chiffon shirt.

But then I saw this dress and I fell in love with the colour and shape. I might put nude heels and something on my head and voila :)

I still need to find smart wear for kids, but if worst comes to worst Toby will wear a shirt with a bow tie and Safina a dress with cat shoes

Have a lovely Sunday, we are going to watch Paddington Bear at a Junior Screening. Safina says it's Aplinkton - and is more excited about the popcorn, juice and chocolate stars.

PS. Don't you love Ranuculus at this time of the year?

Spring?

Today we had doughnuts!
The First Day of Spring seemed the complete opposite... windy and cold. Babies with runny noses throwing tantrums in the park - perhaps not an ideal little trip. However, on the way we bought some bunny ears and said doughnuts.

all I wanted was to drown Marzanna - a Polish tradition symbolising drowning the Winter.
Well, it didn't work as planned. But we got doughnuts and that made my life just that little bit better. For a little while :)

Safina with Marzanna that we made from recycled paper - which is all over our flat.

                                                     Freshly made Marzanna.

This is how it was yesterday. Sunny and beautiful last day of Winter.
